Torta de Pan Viejo

Preparation:

In a large bowl, soak the bread with the milk.

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs with the condensed milk, vanilla, rum and the raisins.

Add this mixture to the bowl with the bread-milk mixture (that must become really small pieces after soaking with the milk).

Pour the batter on the previously greased baking dish and bake on a previously pre-heated oven at 180°C for 45 minutes or until golden brown on top and as pricked with a

toothpick it comes out clean.

If you like before serving you can cover the slice with a syrup made from 1 1/2 cup sugar and 2 tbs water (cook on a sauce pan on low fire, until the sugar is dissolved and it's thick)

(dont let it become too brown).
